Programming for Trainees

One of our top priorities for the 2026 UVA Brain Symposium is to make the programming accessible and beneficial to our excellent neuroscience trainees from across the University. We hope to see you there!

  1. Attend the event!

Trainees from across UVA and outside institutions are encouraged to register and attend as much of the symposium program as they are able.

  2. Ask questions during the Q&A panels.

Each session will conclude with a moderated panel, and you are encouraged to ask questions of the presenters.

  3. Join the Neuroscience Trainee Career Breakfast on Tuesday, May 19.

We are hosting a pre-Symposium breakout session for trainees that will include representatives from various careers paths. Each will be sharing their insights and expertise with trainees in informal conversations over breakfast.

Additional details will be posted as the event approaches. You will be asked to RSVP when registering for the symposium.

  4. Participate in the Symposium Poster Session on Wednesday, May 20.

The Symposium will feature a two-hour poster session on Wednesday afternoon, highlighting neuroscience research from across Grounds. We had overwhelming interest in the poster session, and abstract submission has closed. This session will be lively, so plan to join even if you aren’t presenting!
